How agentic systems are changing technical careers
As AI agents take on multi-step tasks, new roles are forming around building, operating and reviewing them.

An AI agent does more than answer a question. It plans, uses tools, and takes a sequence of actions toward a goal. That makes agents far more useful than chat assistants, and far more important to supervise well.
Around them, a new set of responsibilities is emerging. Someone has to create the data agents learn from and are tested against. Someone has to operate them day to day, review their decisions, and check them against policy. Someone has to engineer them, evaluate them and make them safe.
Some of this work is deeply technical. Some of it depends more on care, consistency and judgement. Together it forms a career ladder that did not exist a few years ago.
The Developer track is built around that ladder, from dataset creation and agent operations through to deployment, evaluation and safety testing.
